Hydroflux Awarded Belmont Desalination LimeFlo
June 18, 2026
Hydroflux is proud to have been awarded the design and build of the LimeFlo Saturator for the new Belmont Desalination Plant in collaboration with FSI Engineering Pty Ltd.
Hunter Water’s Belmont Desalination Plant, currently under construction, will deliver up to 30 million litres per day of drinking water as part of the Lower Hunter Water Security Plan, helping meet future growth demands and building resilience against climate change.

As part of FSI Engineering’s overall Limewater System, the LimeFlo Saturator will be delivered as a free-standing unit with a 7m diameter and 2.6m wall height. It will produce a stream of saturated limewater from bulk lime for alkalinity adjustment in the main desalination process.
The LimeFlo Lime Saturator efficiently produces clarified lime water from lime slurry using our proprietary LimeFlo and CircPro™ system. The saturator features a central feedwell, V-notch weirs, a sludge hopper, and an integrated recirculation system. Lime slurry, combined with dilution water, enters through the CircPro™ manifold into the feedwell for optimal distribution and separation. Clarified lime water overflows into a launder channel for storage, while heavier impurities settle as sludge at the tank’s base.
